Tottenham Hotspur were dealt a blow in their pursuit of Alessandro Bastoni earlier this week.
However, it looks like Spurs have quickly put that behind them and are pursuing another top centre-back.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham have set their sights on Villarreal star Pau Torres for this summer.

The outlet claims Spurs are exploring a potential swap deal involving Torres and Giovani Lo Celso.
Torres is said to have a release clause of £55m, while Tottenham value Lo Celso at around £18m.
However, Spurs are not the only club apparently in pursuit of the 25-year-old.
Apart from Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in Torres.
Torres has been a Spurs target for some time.
He rejected the possibility of moving to north London last summer.
But now, with Tottenham in the Champions League and Villarreal wanting Lo Celso, a deal could certainly be done.
“I have never seen a central defender like Pau Torres”
And if Spurs manage to land Torres, they will get some absolutely superb talent.
He started 33 of Villarreal’s La Liga appearances last season, keeping 12 clean sheets.
Torres is also becoming a regular for Spain, with 18 caps to his name.
“Pau Torres is an incredible player – I think he’s the best,” Unai Emery told football.london last year.
“I coached at Sevilla, at PSG, at Arsenal and I’ve never seen a central defender like Pau Torres.”
“I think he’s going to play at the highest level.
“He is now playing in the national team but he can play in the top teams in Europe very soon.”
Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves said: “He’s a fantastic player.
“I’m quite surprised he’s still at Villarreal. English teams were watching him,” he explained.
“I think everyone was talking about Man United and even Real Madrid, I think his potential is literally that high.
“He has a fabulous left foot, he is excellent in possession. A fantastic player so I don’t think he will stay at Villarreal for very long.
