Nokia G400 and G100 with Qualcomm aptX

Nokia G400 and G100 with Qualcomm aptX

The line between cheap and upper mid-range phones in the Android world is blurring. Low-end and affordable devices come with many technologies that not so long ago were thought to be the best phones out there. Now it’s not that uncommon to see an affordable phone with a 120Hz refresh rate or an OLED screen, and Nokia Mobile is largely to blame for the changes in the budget devices.

The affordable Nokia phones offer good build quality and some nice specs at a great price, and a fine example is the Nokia G21. However, there are some newcomers from Nokia that also include options reserved for more expensive devices.

Nokia G400 5G and Nokia G100 intended for US market will come with Qualcomm aptx software which will improve connection quality for these devices. The Nokia G400 5G will come with aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, while the Nokia G100 will come with classic aptX and aptX HD. That means sound quality and connectivity over BT will be great with G400 5G and G100.

aptX works by compressing and decompressing audio en route from a source device like a phone to a receiving device like wireless BT earphones without sacrificing quality. Hopefully we’ll see these kinds of features in other Nokia devices that aren’t exclusive to the US market. Maybe Juho still thinks and cares about Nokia Mobile, hehe.

Thanks Eero for the tip ;).
