- The phone has a 5.9 inch screen.
- It also runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
ASUS has been caught by the fast hands of the internet about their next flagship compact phone. A removed showcase video has revealed new information on ASUS’ next Zenfone, the ASUS Zenfone 9.
Tech Going (opens in new tab) snapped the video that “Taiwanese manufacturer accidentally shared on YouTube” before it was removed. The video, which looks like an official advertisement for the phone, showed details of what the new product could be.
But since the video has been removed, take all this information with caution, it’s possible that this isn’t the phone’s final design or specs.
The new ASUS Zenfone 9 comes with a 5.9-inch display. Another notable detail of the display is the punch-hole design front-facing camera. Throughout the video we learn that the screen will be 120Hz and the new ASUS Zenfone 9 will use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This is the same chip used in their announced Asus ROG Phone 6 (opens in new tab).
As the video continues, we see more of what Asus has packed into the phone to make it stand on its own. One of the first things we hear about is the new ASUS Zenfone 9, which comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a feature called “ZenTouch”.
While the fingerprint sensor is in the phone’s power button, the new ZenTouch feature has its own “smart key” on the right side of the device. This allows you to run your thumb over the touch button, which lets you scroll up or down a page.
On the back for the camera, the ASUS Zenfone 9 will use the Sony IMX766. It also includes a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer. The video showed a scenario where you would pair this with your “Smart Backpack Mount” to record stable video.
As there are still some unknown variables on this new phone that could be one of the best Android devices at such a price, we’ll have to wait for Asus to make an official statement on the new Zenfone 9. When the video ended, ASUS revealed four colors that the new phone will come in: white, red, black, and blue.
