
A man is hospitalized with serious stab wounds and a man and woman have been arrested after violence broke out on Silver Street in the early hours of the morning.
Police have investigated dozens of stabbings, shootings, rapes, sexual assaults and numerous other violent incidents.
Free Press readers were quick to react following the recent incident on Silver Street, where three people have died since January.
One said: “It’s going to be a scary place,” while another wrote: “One of the reasons I don’t go into town,” while a third added: “Doncaster is a dangerous place.”
“It’s like the Bronx,” wrote another, comparing Doncaster to the New York suburb known for its gang violence and high crime and homicide rates.
Another wrote: “Don’t ever go to Doncaster again – it’s not safe, such a shame, used to be a great town.”
“It’s just a hangout for drunks, drug dealers on wheels and addicts,” wrote another. “The pubs in the city center should all be closed during the day from Monday to Friday.
“There is no need for people to be drinking around town during these hours. It’s just dragging down the business and shopping environment.”
Another wrote: “What’s wrong with people how many stabbings in Doncaster last month? It’s going to be scary.”
“In America it’s guns and here it’s knives,” shared another. “Civilization goes backwards and all roads lead directly to Westminster.
“Every community in this country is being grossly abandoned and getting people to kill each other. It’s like the Middle Ages.”
Another commented: “Don’t care about status, town or city…it’s irrelevant. It’s not safe!”
“Donny is a scary place,” added another, while another said, “It’s really scary how many people get stabbed.”
Police were called around 3.14am this morning after a man was reportedly stabbed on Silver Street.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where his condition remains stable.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said two arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
A statement said: “A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to an offender. You are currently in police custody.
