Firefighters were called off a bus in south London.

Dramatic footage posted on social media showed Tooting Broadway number 333 at Elephant & Castle on fire on Brixton Hill near the Moorish Road junction on Friday morning.

The driver and 20 passengers left the bus before firefighters arrived, London Fire Department said. There were no injuries and the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, with a Brixton fire engine at the scene.

The Guardian understands that extreme heat in London was not believed to be the cause of the fire.
