Arrival of the new Nokia X and G series devices

Nokia Mobile held a small online press event at MWC2022, where the company announced new affordable smartphones and discussed future plans. The exact release date of the new Series X successors has not been given. Still, some hints about successors to X20 and 8.3 have been leaked, but with less detailed information as usual.

Numerous documents published by the FCC suggest that Nokia Mobile is working on new devices (and some tips too), and now confirmation is coming in the form of an X21 render. The render was posted by a user or Twitter account called @nlopt70 and judging by the design of the device, the render looks legit.

Anyway, Nlopt70 showed the most likely new Nokia X21, the successor to the very good X20. The rectangular camera module is here to stay, suggesting that Nokia Mobile still shares the same ODM as Motorola. However, the camera setup could be impressive judging by the lens aperture.

Nokia X21 will come with the relatively new Snapdragon 695 5G, and finally there’s an OLED display with a large 6.7-inch diagonal and 120Hz refresh rate. The battery is rated at 5,000 mAh, which should be enough for two days use. The Nokia X21 could come with a dual camera setup that has a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a TOF sensor for good bokeh effects. Zeiss optics and PureView technology are also there and we could see it in two memory arrangements, 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB.

If you ask me, this seems like a good midranger, but let’s wait and see the official specs.

Nlopt70 also shared a photo of a green-colored device which also has a rectangular camera module with a 50MP AI sensor, and this G-series phone is expected to support 5G and may come with an FHD+ screen 120Hz.

The exact date of the announcement is still unknown, but since the renders are leaking, we might see them soon enough.

Regards to michi who tipped us.

PS Some of these are a bit old, but better late (something you don’t want to hear from your girlfriend) than never (I wish the redesign of the camera module never happened).
